Vaticanum
Vaticanum brings us to the subject of corruption in the heart of Christianity.
The story begins when Islamic extremists penetrate Vatican City and kidnap the Pope. Hours later a video runs on the internet.
A message to the crusaders
The Pope is held by ISIS, announces the video to the world. At midnight he will be decapitated.
The clock starts ticking.
While working on the Vatican’s catacombs, Tomás Noronha is involved in the efforts to locate the Pope. During his research in the Holy See’s archives, he finds a clue that will lead him to the Vatican’s darkest secret – a secret that is not fictional, but true.
“José Rodrigues dos Santos, king of the well-informed thriller. Do not forget his name: he’s the rising star of the historical thriller. His secret? To blend a fertile imagination with a strong sense of research. Breath-taking!”
“JR Dos Santos, the Portuguese Dan Brown. One of the greatest European authors of historical novels.”
A thrilling plot (...) A masterly incursion in the Vatican’s backstage.”
"A convincing book. It may seem a banal statement, but it´s the sheer truth. (...) I was speechless by the ethical and legal miscarriages uncovered by the hero, for they are not the result of the fantasies of a thriller writer, but the hard reality. At each revelation I repeated to myself that what I was reading could not possibly have happened. (...) A book not to miss."
